Spatial and fractal characterization of soil hydraulic properties along a catena

چکیده
Soil hydraulic properties influence water and nutrient availability as well environmental sustainability, these vary across several landscape positions. This study investigated the spatial variability fractal characterization of soil five slope positions: summit, shoulder, back, foot, toe slopes. Triplicate samples (0–18 cm) were collected from each position a pasture field planted to tall fescue [Festuca arundinacea Schreb., syn. schendonorus arundinaceus (Schreb.) Dumort., nom. cons.]. bulk density (ρb); saturated conductivity (Ksat); retention at 0, −33, −1,500 kPa matric potentials; organic carbon (SOC); various pore sizes (macropores [>1,000 μm], mesopores [10–1,000 micropores [<10 μm]) analyzed. Results show that SOC was 26% higher, while ρb 10% lower compared with summit. Similarly, Ksat values 3, 9, 16, 2% greater foot slopes, respectively. Semivariogram analysis showed gaussian isotropic model provided best fit (R2 > .99) for all The range between 5.60 123.00 m dimensions positions ranged 0.784 1.966. similar which might favor improved crop productivity

Combined spatial and Kalman filter estimation of optimal soil hydraulic properties
A method for determining optimal parameters for a field-scale hydraulic conductivity function is presented and tested on soil moisture and matric potential data measured at several locations in a field drainage experiment. The change in moisture content over time at the individual locations is modeled using Richards’ equation, and an optimization for the hydraulic conductivity parameters is per...

متن کاملsome properties of fuzzy hilbert spaces and norm of operators
in this thesis, at first we investigate the bounded inverse theorem on fuzzy normed linear spaces and study the set of all compact operators on these spaces. then we introduce the notions of fuzzy boundedness and investigate a new norm operators and the relationship between continuity and boundedness. and, we show that the space of all fuzzy bounded operators is complete. finally, we define...

متن کاملEffects of biochar amendment on soil aggregates and hydraulic properties
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of biochar amendment on soil aggregate formation and stability, and soil hydraulic properties. Biochar produced from dairy manure was added to two different soils (a silty clay and a sandy loam soil) at a ratio of 2% (w/w in dry weight basis). Incubation experiments were conducted within a 90-d period with the soils (the controls) and the soi...
